The acryl paintings of Erika Stulp (expressionist) are characterized by strongly arranged, colourful, dynamic compositions that are often joyfully radiating.
Erika likes to play with a whole range of expressive elements. You will be moved by these elements of her work: her language of emotion. In her compositions she uses combinations of picturesque touch and graphic lines, all kinds of contrasting colours, decorative elements, sparkling and waving structures.
Her source of inspiration is the inner world. While painting, she expresses feelings like: challenge, protection, ecstasy, surrender, sorrow. It is of little importance to her which painting techniques she uses. What really matters is the expression of emotions. According to Erika life is a theatre, a big stage. And on this stage the most interesting thing to me is to notice contrasts. No day without a night, no rest without an effort. Erika has completed, cum laude, her education at the Arts Academy at Groningen, the Netherlands.
She has had expositions in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Mallorca Italy and Mexico
